If you’ve connected your CloudStation to a power source and to a router, but the info/error LED is flashing amber or your CloudStation suddenly turned off by itself, here are some things you can check:

  1. Is the power mode switch on the back of the CloudStation in the ON position? (CS-WV, CS-WX Series only)
  2. Is the CloudStation on a scheduled stand-by mode?
  3. Is the power cable/power adapter is properly connected?
  4. Is the internal hard disk in error? (CS-WV, CS-WX Series only)

1.  Is the power mode switch on the back of the CloudStation in On position?

The "Power Mode" switch on the back of the unit has three positions: Auto, On, and Off.
The Auto position automatically powers the unit on or off with your PC*1.

If the power switch is in the Auto or Off position, please put the power switch in the On (middle) position.

2.  Is the CloudStation on scheduled stand-by mode?

The CloudStation will turn to standby mode if it's scheduled in Sleep Schedule.
In standby mode, the hard disk and LED lights are turned off.

Please press the CloudStation function button to turn the CloudStation on.
When the power LED in the front of the CloudStation begins flashing blue, the device is starting up.

3.  Is the power cable/power adapter connected properly?

Put the power switch of CloudStation in to Off position, and make sure that the power cable/adaptor of the CloudStation are connected properly.

When the power LED in the front of the CloudStation begins flashing blue, the device is starting-up after returning the power switch to the On position.

4.  Is there an internal hard disk error?

If there is an internal hard disk error, the CloudStation will turn to degrade mode and shut down automatically.
Keep the power switch in the On position and take off the front cover of the CloudStation.

Remove the left side of the CloudStation's front cover.
If flashing red LEDs can be seen, there is an internal hard disk error.
