Plug the computer directly into the back of the Ethernet Converter and power both up.
Do not have either unit connected to router. Change the IP address of the computer to 1.1.1.2 with a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0 and leave everything else blank:
On Windows:
1. start-> control panel -> network connections(if Home edition, Network Connections again)
2. right click on the connected Local Area Ethernet and select properties
3. highlight Internet Protocol TCP/IP and click on properties
4. use the following IP address:1.1.1.2 subnetmask 255.0.0.0
5. apply all screens and wait until they disappear.
Open a web browser and enter 1.1.1.1 into the address bar to log in and configure the Ethernet Converter with the following information:
username: root
pasword: (leave blank)
1. Click Advanced.
2. Browse to the wireless Network SSID
3. Configure any encryption desired for that wireless network.
4. Apply and save settings.
!!! Make sure that you assign an IP address to the Ethernet Convert itself which match your network !!!
After the Ethernet Converter is configured for the wireless network, change computer back to its previous IP address settings or to Automatic (make sure to switch DNS back to Automatic as well) and try to connect to the Internet.
