What is DTCP-IP?

DTCP-IP stands for Digital Transmission Content Protection over Internet Protocol.

This is a technical standard for copy protection of copy-righted contents by DRM etc that is transferred in IP network such as home network.

Copy-righted contents is protected not to copy or transmit them illegally over the Internet by DTCP-IP that encrypts the contents while transferring.

 

Copy protected content can be used in players that support DTCP-IP.

Incompatible players don't display any DTCP-IP-related media.

 

Not all LinkStations support  DCTP-IP.

Refer to the specifications if the LinkStation supports DTCP-IP.
